School Study Visits
ACTE’s School Study Visits offer CTE Directors and Leaders an immersive professional development experience.
School Study Visit participants will:
- Visit some of the nation’s most innovative CTE centers
- Tour state-of-the-art facilities with institution leaders
- Network with other CTE administrators from around the U.S.

ACTE’s School Study Visit of schools within the Northern Kane County Region 110 showcases a regional approach to CTE in the greater Chicago area, where multiple districts pool resources to offer advanced programs and facilities they couldn’t sustain alone—while partnering with a community college to help students earn credentials and college credit in high school. Ideal for CTE leaders seeking scalable, cost-effective solutions for comprehensive high school CTE models, this tour delivers real-world strategies for doing more with less.
ACTE Member = $1,499.00 per person

Non-Member = $1,599.00 per person

Kane County is in the greater Chicago, IL area. Attendees are encouraged to fly in and out of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport if traveling by air.

April 21-24, 2026
Woodbridge, VA
This program is for instructors, faculty, administrators and secondary school educators around the nation to learn about Data Center Operations in Northern Virginia and then take what they’ve learned back to their institution and service areas. Participants will spend two days on professional learning with experience industry professionals at Northern Virginia Community College’s state-of-the-art data center training facility in Woodbridge, VA. Participants will also spend two days at the nation’s largest data center conference – Data Center World in Washington, DC – to learn about the industry and network with professionals. This is part of a DCO Program Development grant (DCO PD), which is intended to expand the national capacity for teaching Data Center Operations.
