ACTE Announces Louisiana State Director for Career and Technical Education as National Award Finalist
ALEXANDRIA, VA—Today, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announced Brittney Baptiste Williams, State Director for Career and Technical Education at Louisiana Community and Technical College System in Baton Rouge, LA as the 2025 ACTE Region IV Administrator of the Year. This award recognizes administrative career and technical education (CTE) professionals at the school, district, county, state or federal level who have demonstrated leadership in ensuring teacher and student success and have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and effective career and technical education programs.
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Brittney Baptiste Williams is committed to strengthening educational opportunities for students in both vision and scope. She earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and her graduate degrees from Southeastern Louisiana University and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Dr. Williams worked extensively with the Perkins Grant at Baton Rouge Community College for 10 years before joining the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS). As the State Director for Career and Technical Education (CTE), her focus areas include compliance, equity, CTE program alignment, training, and partnerships.
An active supporter of multiple initiatives to champion career and technical education, Dr. Williams has participated in several key programs, including the Associate of Career and Technical Education (ACTE)’s Postsecondary Leadership Program as a fellow in 2020. She also serves as a Region B board member for Advance CTE, a council member for SkillsUSA Louisiana-Postsecondary, a coach for Advance CTE’s Postsecondary State CTE Leaders Fellowship in 2022, and co-lead for Advance CTE’s Leaders of Color Affinity Group.
Williams is one of five finalists for the 2025 national title. The national winner will be announced at the ACTE Awards Gala, an award presentation recognizing the best CTE educators in the country. The event will take place on December 4, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. The Awards Gala is sponsored by Express Employment Professionals, Goodheart-Willcox, The Army, and Stratasys.
