Who We Are
The North Carolina Association for Career Technical Education (NCACTE) is the professional organization for North Carolina Educators associated with Career-Technical Education. In this capacity the organization will serve as a unifying agency for personnel in all types of Career and Technical Education. Further NCACTE will assume and maintain active state leadership in initiating, expanding, improving, and promoting Career and Technical Education. Within the structure of NCACTE are different divisions of Career and Technical Education designed to embrace all those interested in Career and Technical Education in the state of North Carolina. The divisions of NCACTE assist with an open state forum to promote, study, and discuss any issue involved in Career and Technical Education.
Welcome Message from the President
My name is Kelly Hoff, and I am honored to serve the North Carolina Association of Career and Technical Education as the 2024-2025 President. I currently serve as a Career Development Coordinator at Havelock High School in Craven County Schools. I have been an educator since 2002 and joined NCACTE in 2018. Since joining I have been active in the Counseling and Career Development Division serving as President Elect 2020-2021, President 2021-2022, and Past President 2022-2023; and had the privilege of being a NCACTE Leadership Fellow 2019-2020. I have served on the NCACTE Executive Board and the Ways & Means Committee chair. Attending both ACTE Region II and Vision as well as a finalist for the ACTE Counseling & Career Development Professional Award in 2023. Career education is such a vital field—it helps people navigate their paths and achieve their goals which is something I am very passionate about as a lifelong educator.
We invite you to join NCACTE if you haven’t already and take part in the exciting Professional Development Opportunities we have planned for this school year. Your involvement is crucial in helping us continue to provide top-notch resources and opportunities for Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers across North Carolina. Together, we can make a significant impact on the nearly 1,000,000 students who benefit from CTE courses.
Please reach out to NCACTE and let us know how we can best support you this year. Your feedback and participation are vital as we strive to enhance the quality and reach of career education.
