About Us

Established in 1927, the Kansas Association for Career and Technical Education (K-ACTE, formerly KVA) is a professional association that provides opportunities for career and technical educators, administrators, and other supporters of career and technical education. Together, we advocate for career and technical education and share the virtues of professionalism and leadership.

K-ACTE fosters career and technical education excellence by providing leadership opportunities, award programs, and recognition. We do not take your membership for granted. We work hard to provide the information, service, and advocacy you expect from a nonprofit association dedicated to your interests.
K-ACTE is unified with a national association, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE, formerly AVA), and state affiliate associations serving specific career and technical education types. When you join K-ACTE and ACTE, you also join affiliates and divisions specific to your instruction field!

K-ACTE organizes advocacy efforts, including trips to visit public officials in Topeka.

K-ACTE and ACTE work together to support our common interests on the state and national levels. Together, we make a difference in funding and policy that affect you and your programs.
