Current and Previous Award Winners
This award is presented annually by the ACTE Board of Directors to nationally-recognized policymakers who have made a contribution of national significance to career and technical education.
The award is presented to the individual or individuals who are determined to have made the most significant impact on policy related to career and technical education either during the past year or over an extended career of public service. (The award is not limited to one recipient.) The award is open to individuals having decision-making authority as evidenced by public or legal sanctions.
Nominations may come from the Board of Directors, the ACTE Public Policy Department or from ACTE members; each nominee from the membership must be endorsed or sponsored by an association, agency, group, several individuals or a combination of these.
Groups nominating an individual for this award should submit a cover letter stating the nominee’s qualifications for the award and include supporting information listing significant legislative and other appropriate accomplishments related to career and technical education.
Nominations for the 2008 award will be accepted by the ACTE Public Policy Department in the Fall of 2007, and are due by November 16, 2007. The Legislative Committee and Board of Directors will select the award recipient in December 2007 and the award will be presented in Washington, DC during the 2008 National Policy Seminar.
